Choosing a tool

Four numbers decide the model.

1. Fastener and joint

Thread size, material and whether the joint is accessible from both sides. Blind joints rule out anything that needs a back-up wrench.

2. Torque target and tolerance

A nominal figure is not enough. The acceptable band decides whether a standard impact wrench will do or the job needs pulse, a controller or a transducer.

3. Cycle time and duty

Fasteners per shift drives the duty rating, and the duty rating drives service intervals far more than the headline power figure does.

4. Supply

Available air pressure and flow, or the battery platform already in the building. Undersized supply is the most common cause of a tool that reads as underpowered.

Send those four to our team and you get a shortlist back rather than a catalog.

Not sure which model?

Send us the joint

Give us the fastener, the torque target and the cycle time. A product engineer picks the models that fit and tells you where the trade-offs are.
